The Van / Build
A Transit platform built around year-round living and real winter testing.
This is a platform for systems integration and cold-weather evaluation, not a lifestyle build. It demonstrates power planning, fabrication, thermal thinking, storage, durability, and real operating constraints.
Systems Involved
A real environment for evaluating products and systems.
The platform creates a real environment for evaluating how products and systems perform during prolonged exposure, daily use, and changing field conditions.

Year-Round Living Plan
Built as a winter-capable living system, not a fair-weather camper.
The van is set up around the unglamorous parts of living and working through a Canadian winter: keeping power available when solar production drops, keeping heat and airflow balanced, managing condensation, storing wet gear, and making the layout serviceable when systems need attention in bad weather.
That makes it a practical demonstration platform for partners in solar, batteries, charging, controls, insulation, heating, ventilation, and rugged storage. Products can be shown in an actual field-use environment instead of a staged install.
Power reserve
Solar, battery storage, alternator charging, shore charging, and monitoring sized around winter load profiles and short daylight.
Thermal envelope
Insulation, heat distribution, window treatment, and cold-bridge reduction planned around overnight comfort and freeze protection.
Moisture control
Ventilation, drying space, and material choices focused on condensation, snow melt, wet boots, and daily interior humidity.
Water and storage
Compact storage zones, freeze-aware water planning, tools, food, recovery gear, and service access kept practical for full-time use.
Primary use case
Four-season mobile base for work, travel, testing, and remote winter operation.
Partner fit
Off-grid energy products documented under real snow, low-light, and daily-use constraints.
Validation style
Installation notes, operating feedback, seasonal results, and practical content from the build.
